This project involved the construction of a new Research and Innovation Centre comprising 3,000m² of offices, electronics laboratories and an amenity building on the CIT campus. The structure of this two storey building consisted mainly of insitu concrete columns on pad foundations, with a “flat slab” at first floor level. The steel roof structure and the roof finish is composed mainly of Kingspan “standing seam” panels, and incorporates a significant quantity of clerestory windows.

The external elevations are clad in a combination of Kingspan panels and Tegral “Pelicolor” fibre cement panels. There are extensive areas of windows and curtain walling in powder coated aluminium. The fit-out of this project comprised extensive areas of metal stud partition and suspended ceilings with all associated wall and floor finishes.

Internal finishes included painting and wall panelling, timber flooring to break-out areas and full furniture and reception area fit-outs. Internal aluminium screens and partitions were also provided. The services integration included a full Building Management System (BMS) incorporating air conditioning, heating and ventilation, lighting and power and extensive data cabling installation. This building was completed and fully fitted to turnkey standard.
